Earth Water
Earth's Water is precious and irreplaceable. Turnbull's connections to water stem from childhood and the soil of their ancestral home in Jamaica right on the ocean. The sounding waves are the life-force of their memories, a constant soundtrack in dream and consciousness linked to heartbeat and breath.
Jennifer makes work in the liminal space between water, air and land, documented in moving and still images. The intention is to honor the water and all the people connected and depending on it; pointing out issues of access and equity for Black and poor communities along the way.
